Ask Big Sarge

Terms of Use

Effective 5 October 2026 · Version 1.0

1. About these terms

These terms apply to the Ask Big Sarge app and website, operated by Aaron Parry, trading as Ask Big Sarge, England (“we”, “us”). By using Ask Big Sarge you agree to them.

2. A reference tool, not legal advice

Ask Big Sarge is an independent reference and study aid. It is not legal advice, official guidance or a substitute for your training, force policy, supervisors or legal advisers. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by any police force, the College of Policing or the Home Office. We work hard to keep content accurate and current, but the law changes and errors can happen. Always check the primary legislation and your force's guidance before acting, and use your own professional judgement.

3. Who can use Ask Big Sarge

You must be 18 or over. Do not enter details of real incidents, people or police systems into the app.

4. Your account

Keep your sign-in details secure. You can delete your account at any time in the app.

5. Purchases

Some features may need a paid subscription. Payments are handled by Apple or Google. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies. Your statutory rights are not affected.

6. Content and licences

Legislation text is Crown copyright and is used under the Open Government Licence v3.0. The app's explanations, summaries, design and code belong to us. Do not copy, scrape or resell them.

7. Our responsibility

We cannot promise Ask Big Sarge will be error-free or always available. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence. Otherwise, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

8. Changes and ending

We may update these terms and will tell you in the app about significant changes. You can stop using Ask Big Sarge at any time. We may suspend accounts that break these terms.

9. Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the UK you can also bring claims in your local courts.
